Business Intelligence Analyst

NCARB’s Information Systems Directorate has an opening for a Business Intelligence Analyst position. The Business Intelligence Analyst is primarily responsible for exploring and analyzing data across the Council and the architecture profession presenting information and key insights that support NCARB’s strategies. The role promotes sharing data, key metrics monitoring, informed decision making, cloud based infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. The Business Intelligence Analyst ensures the right people have access to the right data in the right format at the right time providing expert guidance and analysis of information throughout the organization.

The Business Intelligence Analyst is a highly collaborative role that works across the Council. Incumbent must be a creative thinker and a self-starter, display an innovative spirit, act in a professional manner and thrive in a rapid pace and demanding environment. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences / quantitative field; or, combination of substantial related experience, training, and education may substitute.
  • One or more years of relevant experience in Data Analytic roles in Agile teams.
  • Proficiency building and deploying reports on a business intelligence platform (Tableau/Spotfire/SSRS)
  • Proficiency with SQL and experience interacting with and managing a data warehouse.
  • Experience working with Linux and version control.
  • Experience with modern data storage formats (RDBMS/JSON/NoSQL/web APIs).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and web development frameworks.
  • Willingness and interest in new technologies, skills, and applications.
  • Some minimal travel including weekends may occasionally be required.
